Patti Carns – Life Enrichment Director

My name is Patti Carns. I am the new Life Enrichment Director at The Manor of Mason Woods. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 31 years. We have four beautiful children, one son-in-law and a daughter-in-law to be that we love as much as our own kids.

I feel in love with the Manor when my own loved one was a resident. I was very impressed with the care and attention that they received so, I felt that this would be somewhere I would enjoy working.

I began working at the Manor as the Office Manager. I really enjoyed the job as well as the people that I worked with however; I found myself wanting to spend more time interacting with the residents. When the job of Life Enrichment Director became available, I had to consider it.

Since taking the job, I have met a beautiful lady that was a Sergeant in the Army, a farmer that also taught Chemistry, and a lovely business women that spent her years leading volunteer organizations. I have talked to mothers about their large families, learned of triumphs, and heard stories of tragedy and heartache that seems insurmountable. One woman traveled the world alone and another women was the first female prison guard in a prison. In other words, these individuals have lived lives, amazing lives! They deserve to be treated with respect. They deserve to laugh and live life. Perhaps one day, when we sit asking where the years have gone, we will all be treated with the same love and respect that the residents receive here at the Manor.
