On August 14th the Manor of Mason Woods will be hosting a quilt show and bed turning program. The quilt show will be open to the public from 9:00am until after the bed turning which begins at 1:30pm. You are welcome to bring your quilts and share them with us. Quilts will be accepted at The Manor on Tuesday, August 12th from 1:00 until 3:00pm and again on Wednesday beginning at 9:00am. There will be prizes given for the best baby quilt, best hand quilted quilt, best embroidered quilt and an overall best of show, as well as door prizes.
Join the Perry County Home and Community Education Association and The Manor at Mason Woods as we present the old fashion social event of a “bed turning.” The quilts to be turned will be provided by Patti Morgenthatler of Coulterville and Kathy Mallory of Christopher. Patti and Kathy do beautiful pieced and appliqued work with Civil War fabrics, wool and cotton. As in the old days when the quilter would invite guests in to show off her quilts we, too, will serve refreshments of sweet tea and cookies!
